Salle de Napoli Fencing Club was formed in early 2006. The founder, Randall LeMaster, first started the club as a satellite branch of the Ft. Myers Fencing Club (now known as Southwest Florida Fencing Academy); but when the number of students grew to the point where renting the space for classes was no longer an option, he took the chance to break off and form his own club. The number of beginning students has continued to grow, along with several new competition team members as well.
Salle de Napoli welcomes everyone. After recently renovating, we now have a waiting area and cubbies to store the students equipment. With this improvement, we also have decided to create an armory to help our students with their fencing gear. We are also in the middle of painting, so that we might be able to sport the club colors.
The students at Salle de Napoli have been making themselves well known for their unique fencing styles, and their ability to overcome their opponets. After just a few national tournaments, including the Junior Olympics, the students have had other fencers ask about their club and coach. Our fencers have made a statement at these large tournaments, even taking some medals and pride back to the club with them.
